Are dog parks free?
Most municipal dog parks are free. Some counties run permit systems ($20–$60/year) and private dog parks charge day passes or memberships — call or check posted signs before your first visit.
What are typical dog park rules?
Current rabies vaccination, no dogs in heat, no food inside the fence, pick up after your dog and supervise at all times. Many parks have separate small-dog (under 25–30 lbs) areas.
Is a dog park safe for puppies?
Most vets recommend waiting until a puppy has completed its full vaccination series, around 16 weeks. Before that, stick to controlled playdates with known, vaccinated dogs.
